Taking Out The Trash

As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. (Ps. 103:12)

Living in an apartment has its perks. One of those perks is door side trash and recyclable pick-up Sunday thru Thursday. We set it outside and never see the trash again. It’s gone. That’s it. No more. Of course, the trash is merely being brought to another locale. Out of sight, out of mind.

Trash is a byproduct of human life. In the spiritual plane, sins are also a byproduct of life. To this point, only one person has successfully lived without bringing the pollution of sin with Him. Not so for us. We bring the trash of sin into our homes and lives and store up immense putrefaction heaps. We become compulsive hoarders as a result and are lost amid the dump of life.

Thankfully, we have a direct line to the ultimate garbage collector. He not only takes our trash to another location, He completely eliminates it! And His service is better than doorstep; He comes into our hearts and purges us of all the filthy contamination we pile ourselves in (Titus 3:3-7). He saves us from the spiritual refuse heap and for that we are eternally indebted. All we need to do is take out the trash.
